Depeche Mode is a Bristish electronic music band formed in Basildon, Essex, United Kingdom in 1980 by Vince Clarke and Andrew Fletcher, who joined Martin Gore and David Gahan soon after. After their debut album Speak & Spell in 1981, Clarke left the band and was replaced by Alan Wilder, who remained until 1995. Since then Gahan, Gore and Fletcher have continued as a trio.
